One day in 2020 I realized how much I was missing playing music with my friends. With this group in particular, we’d done maybe 50 gigs together since 2018, in the most laid back sense. No road schedule or plans to make this our main gig; we just liked playing together and wanted to do it as much as possible without having to experience the nasty music business side of a being a band. Out of all the folks I’ve been fortunate enough to play with, these were the ones I most missed making music beside during the past year - perhaps it was because we lived so close by but couldn’t see one another. So, towards the end of the year I came up with a reason for everyone to safely get together, and booked a recording day at Bigtone Records in Bristol. Just before Thanksgiving, we sat down in front of old analog gear and recorded a handful of the songs we regularly played, all straight to tape with no editing. The result is an unadulterated glimpse into what happens when four friends get together and make music.
